Weather

With a tropical rainforest climate Kuala Lumpur's temperature is constant throughout the year, within the range of 23°C early in the morning to 32°C during the day. The monsoon/ rainy season is officially from October to March, however in the remaining months you can expect some heavy rainfall as well. Throughout the year it is nice and sunny in Kuala Lumpur.


Currency

Malaysian Ringgit (RM) – Travelers cheques and foreign currencies can be changed for Malaysian Ringgit at banks and hotels. Money changer kiosks are available at major shopping complexes and airport. Most major hotels charge a nominal fee for currency conversion. ATM machines are plentiful and located just about everywhere in Kuala Lumpur.


Passport Validity

Visitors must possess a valid passport or other internationally recognised travel documents endorsed for travelling to Malaysia, with a validity period of at least six (6) months beyond the time of stay allowed in Malaysia.


Time Zone

Standard Malaysian Time is 8 hours ahead of GMT (GMT+8).


Electricity

Voltage is 220 – 240 Volt AC at 50 cycles per second, adaptable to standard 3-pin square plugs and socket.


Visa Requirements

Visa requirements are dependent on the country of origin and last port of disembarkation before entering Malaysia. Visitors can also contact the nearest Malaysian consulate to confirm visa requirements. Malaysia Digital Card

As part of your arrival preparations, please complete and submit the Malaysia Digital Arrival Card (MDAC) within three (3) days before your arrival in Malaysia. You may proceed by clicking the following link: MDAC Portal


Travel Insurance

Registration fees do not include insurance of any kind. It is strongly recommended that all delegates take out their own travel and medical insurance prior to coming to the Conference. The policy should include loss of fees/ deposit through cancellation of your participation in the meeting, or through cancellation of the meeting itself, loss of airfares for any reason, medical expenses, loss or damage to personal property, additional expenses and repatriation should travel arrangements have to be altered. Neither the meeting secretariat nor the organising committee will take any responsibility for any participant failing to insure. Please speak to your travel agent or airline regarding this matter.

Travel from the airport to the city centre

Most visitors arrive at either Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA Terminal 1), Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2 (KLIA Terminal 2) which are both located approximately 58km away from the city centre.

KLIA Ekspres (Recommended)

The fastest and most convenient way to get to Hilton Kuala Lumpur from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) is by taking the KLIA Ekspres high-speed train. The train connects KLIA to KL Sentral station, which is within walking distance of the hotel. The journey takes approximately 28 minutes.

By Airport Taxi/Limousine


You can also take a taxi from KLIA to Hilton Kuala Lumpur. Airport taxis are readily available at the airport, and the journey will take around 45 minutes to an hour, depending on traffic conditions. Ensure that the taxi uses the meter or agree on a fare before starting your journey.


Price range between RM90.00 to RM120.00 (USD21.00 to USD28.00) for budget taxi. Surcharge may apply for weekends and after office hours.
