As the president of the Arthroplasty Society in Asia (ASIA), I am delighted to extend a warm welcome to the 11th Annual Meeting of ASIA, combined with the 4th Annual Meeting of the Malaysian Society for Hip & Knee Surgeons (MSHKS) and the 17th Annual Meeting of the ASEAN Arthroplasty Association (AAA). This significant event will take place in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on 13–16 August 2025.

ASIA has completed 13 years since its establishment. ASIA has successfully held ten annual academic conferences in many cities in China, Japan, South Korea, India, Indonesia, and Thailand. We also organized various series of online educational webinars, workshops, and fellowships, as well as running a successful international scientific journal, Arthroplasty. This June, the journal may receive its new Impact Factor of about 4.4, ranking Q1 in the Orthopaedics category of the JCR report. Those breakthroughs brought together top experts and scholars from different countries, making ASIA not only a platform for academic exchange but also an important window for sharing and promoting professional knowledge and innovative technologies.

By gathering top global experts and scholars, this meeting is working out all kinds of academic and educational programs to share the latest advancements and practical experiences in arthroplasty surgery. As reflected in the meeting’s agenda, artificial intelligence and robotic-assisted technique breakthroughs in joint replacement will be the spotlight, promoting cross-border integration in orthopedics.

Dear Esteemed Colleagues and Friends, 2025 will be an exciting year for us, as we host our annual meeting together with the Arthroplasty Society in Asia (ASIA) and the ASEAN Arthroplasty Association (AAA) right in the heart of Kuala Lumpur. This collaboration promises to gather the great minds, eminent leaders and innovators in the field of hip and knee surgery.

The theme for this year’s meeting, “Bespoke Hip & Knee Surgery”, is a natural evolution of all the advancement that has been achieved in this field. Over the last decade, surgical technique, implants, execution tools and technology have evolved so much that many surgeons are re-thinking how they approach patients and surgical treatment. Should personalised solutions be the goal of surgeons and healthcare professionals in improving patients’ quality of life and satisfaction? Or does the old dogma of one size fits all still stand?
